Cathedral Rock and Montezuma's Castle

April 25, 2011
This morning most of the hikers drove to Brins Mesa and hiked about 5 miles. Judy, Dawn and I drove to two viewpoints of Cathedral Rock, but we never did see any water in Oak Creek. It is always there in the postcards. We stopped on the way back at a bookstore. Then went to the thrift shop run by the Sedona Humane Society and to a Victorian Christmas shop.
We Denver and John returned from their hike, the four of us went to see Montezuma's Castle, a five-story, 20 room dwelling from the early 1100s. It is in a cliff 100 feet above the valley. It is now a National Monument.
Some hikers have already left for home. The rest of us will leave sometime tomorrow.
