Today we drove to Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park. Rode the tram to the Green Jay blind and spent a few minutes there. Walked to the water and saw 4 species. Tried to go to the Great Kiskadee blind, but it is closed because of flood damage. Took just a few pictures. Not really very many birds showing themselves. Very windy again, gusts up to 30.
Next we tried to find the McAllen Convention Center, but didn't have any luck. On to the McAllen Nature Center, which is run down and probably not very safe, so didn't stay long. Did have a new Texas bird there however, Worm-eating Warbler.
By this time it was pretty hot and kind of humid, so we skipped the McAllen Sewage Ponds.
Now having an exciting evening doing our laundry. Fortunately, our inn has a washer and dryer we are able to use.

Pictures today: raccoon, Green Jay, Golden-fronted Woodpecker, Great-tailed Grackles.
