Several of us had breakfast at the old Hotel El Tovar. Everyone thought their was delicious. The butters were pistachio with prickly pear and pine nut butters. For the pancakes and French toast there was regular syrup and prickly pear. I had wild mushrooms in my omelet that were very delicious. The dishes were replicas of the ones used on the Santa Fe Railroad, which dropped visitors, coming from Williams, at the Grand Canyon.
After breakfast everyone checked out and did their own thing on the way to Sedona.
John and I stopped at Prescott and went through the museum. Then we drove around town.
Next we took a very winding road up to Jerome. Jerome almost became a ghost town when the mine shut down, but then hippies discovered it. It is build into a high hillside. There is an historic adobe mansion in the Historic Park. Unfortunately it was closed for the day by the time we got there.
The scenery and red rock as we approached Sedona was beautiful, especially with the sun setting.
Pictures today: Dishes at El Tovar, Prescott and the Museum, Jerome, Sedona.
