May 10

Left the Comfort Inn in Limon, CO without having the Continental Breakfast. John needed to do
his blood test again, and the nearest hospital was Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington, CO about an hour away. So we traveled to Burlington. Found the hospital without too much trouble and the test was done in no time. Then came the problem!!!
No restaurants in Burlington, except fast food. Drove on to Goodland, KS about 17 miles from the Colorado line. No restaurants except fast food. John pulled into a Mexican place thinking they might at least have eggs. Nope! Ended up eating at McD's. John had the big breakfast and hot tea and I had a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and water. Yum!
We headed east again into lots of fog. The sun did not shine all day, but the fog finally lifted somewhat. Stopped for gas and it was pouring. Good thing these gas stations have covered tanks.
We are now in a Comfort Inn in Kansas City, KS. Thunderstorms, high winds, and hail are predicted. Tornadoes to the south of us in Oklahoma City area and Wichita, KS. Hearing thunder and rain now, so I am closing.

More from the road tomorrow...

John and Elaine
