This morning we went to the Docker's Restaurant for breakfast buffet. Of course, they had grits,
which made John happy. I liked the biscuits and the strawberries and bananas--almost like having strawberry shortcake.
We drove out to Tablerock Lake State Park, which is near Tablerock Dam. They had a very nice
visitors' center with a bird feeder area. John walked a little of the nature trail.
Had lunch at The Plantation Restaurant, another buffet. This one had peach cobbler and soft
serve vanilla ice cream for dessert. We didn't have much time as we had tickets for a show called
#1 Hits of the '60s. Excellent singers, too bad the audience was small. They dragged one man out
of the audience to help them perform, "These Boots Were Made For Walking." He was a good sport and did a pretty good job. They let him keep the "love beads." His wife was busy snapping
lots of pictures. Afterwards, I made a stop at the Branson Scrapbook Store, of course.
Dinner at McD's after a stop at WalMart.
Then we went to the Musical "Noah" at the Shepherd of the Hills Theater. What a production! Must have taken hours and hours to construct all the scenery. Some of the animals in the Ark were real: Llamas, camels, goats, horses, ponies, sheep, and pigs.
We're back in the tent, computers plugged into an extension cord, catching up on gmail, news,
and, of course, this blog.
Lots of good birds today-a report for later. My journal is still in the van.
Heading for part of old Rt. 66 tomorrow between Springfield, MO and Oklahoma City, missed
this part last fall.
More from the road.....
Elaine and John
